Johnson Iron’s custom steel fences and gates are built to complement the architecture and landscape of Tahoe properties, from mountain-modern estates to traditional alpine homes. Every piece is fabricated in our Truckee shop and installed by our own crew, ensuring quality control from design through final installation.
What We Build
Our fence and gate work spans a wide range of styles and applications. We fabricate everything from simple powder-coated steel panel fences to elaborate ornamental iron gates with custom scrollwork and hardware. We also build functional security fencing for commercial properties, equipment yards, and utility enclosures. All of our fencing is designed with Tahoe’s snow loads and ground movement in mind — posts are set deep and footings are sized for the site.

Our Process
We begin with an on-site visit to measure the space, discuss your design preferences, and assess site conditions. Our team prepares a detailed proposal and, for complex projects, shop drawings for your review. Fabrication takes place in our Truckee shop and installation is handled by our own crew. We coordinate with landscapers, concrete contractors, and electricians (for automated gates) to ensure a smooth installation sequence.
